FoodAtlas is the world's first expansive knowledge graph for food-chemical connections. Powered by an advanced AI pipeline, this innovative tool scours scientific literature to gather hundreds of thousands of food-related facts.
Working alongside a dedicated team of researchers, I played a key role in bringing this abundance of information to a user-friendly website. Our recently unveiled platform boasts a comprehensive database of searchable and filterable food facts. Additionally, upcoming updates will offer detailed food compositions and visualizations, enhancing comprehension of molecular groups such as macros.

AIFS, the leading USDA/NSF-funded AI institute dedicated to agriculture and food systems, continually expands its research projects and outreach efforts. After joining, one of my initial recommendations was to overhaul the outdated and simplistic web presence. To achieve a more accessible, modern, and maintainable platform, we undertook a comprehensive redesign and reengineering of aifs.ucdavis.edu. The revamped website uses state of the art CMS, reactive components instead of nested pages in a modern design, attracting thousands of montly users.

Dairy Molecule Database

The Dairy Molecule Database (DMD) establishes an open-source repository featuring a user-friendly frontend and API, facilitating access to molecules identified in whole milk samples alongside associated omics data. Geared towards researchers and the broader public alike, DMD boasts a precise yet engaging design, encouraging seamless exploration, comparison, and retrieval of milk-related information.

HexTile, California Wildfire Visualization

During my tenure as a graduate student at VIDI Labs, my research has centered on wildfire visualization. Collaborating closely with the Yolo County Office of Emergency Services , I've developed a comprehensive geospatial visualization tool for California's prevalent wildfires. This tool aims to enhance the understanding of the diverse factors influencing wildfire expansion, aiding in decision-making and response strategies.

Together with a study partner, I co-created Docstr, an app designed to assist aspiring Austrian med school students in preparing for their challenging entrance exams anytime, anywhere. Initially developed for iOS, we later expanded to a universal React Native app, offering thousands of study questions for every section of the exam. At its peak, Docstr garnered several hundred downloads monthly, providing valuable support to exam candidates.
